This course discusses American Sign Language (ASL) and how to incorporate it into the classroom. Techniques for teaching sign language and how children play and learn are discussed. Various age-appropriate signs and handshapes including, the alphabet and numbers, commons signs, and advanced signs are described, illustrated, demonstrated, and detailed.
Learning Outcome: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) into classroom activities using an understanding of basic, common, and advanced signs and handshapes.
